Salary: £36-£41k Per Annum (Depending on Experience)
Hours: Flexible across both shifts | 6:00am-2:45pm / 2:00pm-10:30pm
Location: Mitcham, London

The RoleWe are currently recruiting for a Team Leader to join a busy food manufacturing site based in Mitcham.
This role will involve overseeing a team of production operatives on a fast-paced production line, assisting with the preparation, assembly, and packaging of food products while ensuring high standards of quality, hygiene, and safety are maintained at all times.
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, ideal for candidates with a proven track record of managing a team within a production or factory and looking for a long-term permanent role.
Key Responsibilities of the Food Production Operative- Develop, promote and maintain good relationships with Warehouse, QA, Planning and Engineering to build trust and confidence
- Lead by example on day-to-day adherence to HSE, Quality and Hygiene standards, ensuring PPE is worn as required and taking appropriate action immediately if standards not being met, and timely reporting as per procedure
- Conduct weekly team meetings to discuss HSE, Quality, Hygiene and performance topics providing team a platform to consider improvement suggestions
- Carry out quality checks to ensure product standards are met
- Follow food hygiene and safety procedures at all times
- Review production plans on a daily basis, planning shift accordingly to meet orders
- Promote multiskilling within the team by rotating on all areas / tasks of the process
- Maintain basic awareness of company family friendly policies and procedures
- Support the team with a 'hands on' approach, working on the production line if required.
- Previous Team Leader experience within a Food production or factory
- Proven track record in managing teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable with standing for long periods
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Team player with good attention to detail
- £36-£41k per annum (depending on experience)
