Job Responsibilities Assemble components and sub-assemblies accurately in line with work instructions and build specifications. Carry out mechanical assembly tasks, ensuring correct fit, alignment, and functionality. Use hand tools and basic workshop equipment safely and effectively to complete assembly activities. Perform quality checks during and after assembly to ensure products meet required standards. Identify and report defects, non-conformities, or assembly issues promptly to the relevant team.
Maintain a clean and organised workstation in line with 5S and housekeeping expectations. Follow health and safety procedures, including safe working practices and correct PPE usage. Support continuous improvement by suggesting practical ways to improve efficiency and quality. Complete production documentation accurately, including batch/traceability records where required. Required
Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in an assembly or production environment (manufacturing or similar). Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight tolerances and clear instructions. Competence using hand tools and basic workshop equipment safely and accurately. Good understanding of quality principles, including in-process checks and defect identification. Ability to read and follow technical documentation such as work instructions and assembly procedures.
Basic understanding of mechanical assembly methods and correct component handling. Good communication skills and a team-focused approach to working on the shop floor. Commitment to health and safety, including following risk controls and using PPE correctly. Willingness to learn and develop, with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement. Relevant qualification in manufacturing, engineering, or a related discipline (desirable). Any recognised training in health and safety or manufacturing processes (desirable).
