As a Machine Technician, you'll be responsible for monitoring the performance of our paper machine, ensuring production runs safely and efficiently, and supporting the delivery of a high-quality product. No two shifts are the same, and your ability to think on your feet and respond to challenges will be key to your success.
The Role Working as part of the machine crew, you will:
Monitor machine performance and identify potential issues before they impact production. Carry out essential safety checks before and during machine operation. Ensure all work is completed in line with company safety standards and procedures. Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the machine and production areas. Complete production and operational documentation accurately and on time. Conduct routine inspections and quality checks to ensure product specifications are met.
Support machine start-ups, shutdowns, grade changes and changeovers. Communicate effectively with colleagues across production departments to ensure smooth operations. Minimise downtime, waste and production losses through proactive monitoring and problem solving. Report mechanical, electrical, quality or safety concerns promptly. Assist with process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives. Support the team in achieving production, quality and environmental targets. What We're Looking For We're interested in people who:
Have experience within manufacturing, production, engineering, process operations or a similar environment. Enjoy troubleshooting and solving problems. Have strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to work. Can work well under pressure and make sound decisions. Understand the importance of safety, quality and teamwork. Are reliable, motivated and keen to learn. Previous experience operating machinery would be advantageous, but attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn are equally important.
