A well-invested aerospace precision engineering business is growing its engineering team and is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer to take ownership of programming, process development and manufacturing optimisation.
This is far more than a programming role. You’ll have genuine influence over how complex aerospace components are manufactured, developing processes, tooling, fixtures and setup strategies to deliver first-time-right production.
The Role- Create, optimise and prove 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC programmes
- Develop manufacturing processes, routings and setup strategies
- Design and implement work-holding and fixture solutions
- Select tooling and optimise machining processes
- Drive first-time-right production and reduce manufacturing inefficiencies
- Support the introduction of new aerospace components into manufacture
- Work closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Proven CNC programming experience within precision engineering
- Strong understanding of 3, 4 and 5-axis machining
- Experience developing manufacturing methods and setup strategies
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Aerospace manufacturing experience is highly desirable
- Hypermill experience would be advantageous
