Kinetic Recruitment is currently supporting a manufacturing specialist with the recruitment of 2 x Shot blasters to support continued growth and increased production requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with previous shot blasting, abrasive blasting, surface preparation or industrial manufacturing experience. Training will be provided, so candidates with the right attitude and a strong industrial background who are looking to develop their skills are also encouraged to apply.
Pay Rate £14.00 per hour - without FLT and Overhead Crane (OHC) licences £14.50 per hour - with one licence FLT or Overhead Crane (OHC) licences £15.00 per hour - with both FLT and Overhead Crane (OHC) licences
Working as part of the production team, you will be responsible for the abrasive blast cleaning and preparation of steel components and fabricated products prior to coating.
- Operating shot blasting equipment safely and effectively.
- Preparing steel components by removing rust, scale, paint and other contaminants.
- Achieving required surface preparation standards, including SA 2.5 where applicable.
- Inspecting blasted surfaces to ensure required cleanliness and profile standards are achieved.
- Loading and unloading components within the blast booth.
- Handling materials using overhead cranes and lifting equipment where trained and authorised.
- Completing production paperwork and maintaining traceability records.
- Carrying out routine equipment checks and reporting defects or maintenance requirements.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the workplace.
- Working closely with coating operatives, inspectors and supervisors to meet production targets.
- Assisting with the packing, handling and movement of finished goods when required.
- Working in accordance with all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures.
Essential:

- Reliable, punctual and willing to work hard.
Desirable:
- Previous shot blasting or surface preparation experience.
- Experience with in a coatings, fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- FLT Licence.
- Overhead Crane Licence.
- Knowledge of surface preparation standards such as ISO 8501-1.
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality environment.
Full training and development will be available, including:
- Shot blasting techniques and operation.
- Safe use of plant and equipment.
- Health & Safety procedures.
- Quality and inspection requirements.
- Manual handling.
- FLT and Overhead Crane training where applicable.

Shift: Monday
- Wednesday, 2:00pm - 12:00am Thursday, 2:00pm - 11:30pm - Both shifts are 37.5 hours per week
- Some flexibility, including overtime, may be required to support production requirements.
