WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:We are looking for an experienced Senior Marketing Manager to lead marketing activity across our eCommerce portfolio during a maternity cover period. This is a hands‑on role combining strategic planning with campaign execution, team leadership and close collaboration with senior stakeholders.
You will work with the Head of Marketing & Content, Group Portfolio Managing Director, Group Event Director and wider teams to develop and deliver marketing strategies that drive delegate and visitor growth, engagement and revenue.
THE ROLE:- Develop and implement marketing strategy, positioning, key messaging and product strategy for the eCommerce portfolio.
- Line manage the Marketing Manager and Senior Marketing Executive, setting clear objectives and supporting performance, development and wellbeing.
- Lead the execution of multi‑channel marketing campaigns and report on performance against KPIs.
- Be hands‑on with campaign delivery during busy periods, including copywriting, briefing and reviewing creative, building and scheduling emails, setting up and optimising digital campaigns, updating web content and producing reports.
- Own the training and development plan for the marketing team, identifying skills gaps and providing coaching and on‑the‑job training.
- Oversee the creative and design process for marketing materials, ensuring consistency with event branding and marketing strategy.
- Review audience development plans and ensure all marketing communications reflect event positioning and key messaging.
- Collaborate with partners to deliver lead‑generation and revenue‑driving marketing campaigns across live and digital products.
- Regularly review marketing plans, response rates, KPIs, attendee demographics and industry best practice, making recommendations and adjustments where required.
- Oversee community‑building and social media strategies to drive engagement and brand affinity.
- Work closely with Digital and Data teams on database management, segmentation and GDPR compliance.
- Manage marketing budgets, raise purchase orders and liaise with Finance on reporting requirements.
- Manage the planning and execution of the visitor registration process.
- Be responsible for the delivery of delegate and visitor targets, attendee revenue generation and pricing strategies.
- Support senior stakeholders in executing broader portfolio and business development strategies.
You’re a confident, commercially minded marketer who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, marketing‑led environment. You’re comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution and enjoy leading and developing others.
You will bring:- Proven experience in a senior marketing role, ideally within B2B events, technology and/or eCommerce.
- Experience contributing to the development of insight‑led marketing plans and translating strategy into effective multi‑channel campaigns.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines.
- Demonstrable experience line managing and developing direct reports.
- Excellent written communication skills, with confidence in producing B2B marketing copy.
- A hands‑on approach to campaign delivery, including email marketing, digital campaigns, web updates and reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of CRM and CMS platforms, email marketing tools and marketing automation systems.
- Experience delivering and optimising digital marketing campaigns, including use of tools such as Google Analytics and Google Ads.
- Understanding of data protection regulations and best practices in email marketing and data sharing.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to deliver sales‑led, revenue‑driving marketing activity.
