Location: Greater London

We’re partnering with a leading global insurer to recruit a Media Relations & Social Media Assistant to join their Corporate Affairs team on a 6-month fixed term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for either:

  • A recent graduate (History, Politics, Social Sciences or similar) with a genuine interest in PR, media and communications
  • or
  • Someone with around 12 months’ experience in PR, media relations or corporate communications looking to build their career within financial services.
The Opportunity

You’ll support a busy Corporate Affairs function responsible for managing both proactive media campaigns and reactive reputation activity. The focus is on building and protecting brand reputation across traditional and social media channels.

This role offers exposure to:

  • Media relations strategy and execution
  • Drafting press materials and corporate content
  • Social media monitoring and engagement
  • Quarterly media reporting
  • Journalist liaison and relationship building
  • PR agency coordination
  • Corporate website and content management

It’s hands-on, fast-paced and an excellent foundation for a long-term career in Corporate Communications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft first versions of press releases, media comments, blogs and social posts
  • Monitor social media channels and identify opportunities to engage in industry conversations
  • Support reactive media handling and holding statements
  • Coordinate interviews, briefings and media events
  • Assist with quarterly media reporting
  • Maintain organised corporate affairs documentation and filing systems
  • Support with website updates and broker platform content
About You
  • Degree educated (History, Politics, Social Sciences or similar preferred)
  • Strong writing and critical thinking skills
  • Genuinely curious about global business, geopolitics and how insurance supports economic growth
  • Digitally confident and comfortable using social media platforms
  • Calm under pressure and detail-focused
  • Organised, reliable and willing to roll up your sleeves
