Category Manager - FMCG Food

Allexo is partnering with a leading international food business to recruit a commercially focused Category Manager for its established Category & Insight team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious category professional to work closely with major UK grocery retailers, turning shopper, consumer and market data into compelling strategies that deliver sustainable growth. The role offers broad exposure across category strategy, range optimisation, innovation and customer engagement.

You will act as a key link between the customer and internal commercial teams, ensuring category and shopper thinking influences decisions across Sales, Marketing, Innovation and Operations. The business is open to established Category Managers as well as high-potential candidates ready to take the next step into a broader category management position.

• You will be responsible for identifying category growth opportunities and translating complex data into clear, commercially relevant recommendations.
• Building trusted relationships with retail customers will be central to your success.
• You will create compelling category stories, influence customer decision-making and help shape long-term strategies across both in-store and online channels.
• Translating shopper, consumer, market and sales data into clear insights and recommendations
• Developing and delivering category growth plans for key grocery customers
• Leading or supporting category reviews, range optimisation and assortment recommendations
• Identifying opportunities for new product development and category expansion
• Creating persuasive customer presentations and category selling stories
• Building strong relationships with retail buyers, category teams and internal stakeholders
• Supporting in-store and online execution strategies
• Working cross-functionally with Commercial, Marketing, Innovation and Operations
• Helping embed category thinking throughout the wider business

• You will be an analytical and commercially minded category professional who can turn data into action.
• You will ideally bring:
• Experience in Category Management, Category Insight or Shopper Marketing within FMCG
• Experience working with UK grocery retailers
• Strong analytical skills and confidence using multiple data sources
• Excellent presentation and storytelling capability
• The ability to build trusted customer relationships
• Strong commercial awareness and customer focus
• A curious mindset and genuine interest in shopper and consumer behaviour

This is an office-based position in Greater London, requiring attendance five days per week.
