Strategy Director

£80,000–£90,000 | Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office

We’re partnering with a highly respected independent brand design agency that works with some of the world’s most recognised consumer brands across brand identity, packaging and brand experience.

They’re looking for a Strategy Director to join their growing strategy team and play a key role across a major international client, alongside wider agency and new business activity.

This is an opportunity for an experienced strategist — or an ambitious Senior Strategist ready to step up — to take genuine ownership of strategic work, build senior client relationships and help shape the continued development of the agency’s strategy offering.

The Role

You’ll lead strategy for a major international client, working closely with senior stakeholders to understand their challenges, shape strategic direction and build long-term relationships.

Alongside this core account, you’ll contribute to a range of projects spanning brand positioning, identity, innovation and experience, as well as supporting new business pitches, outreach and wider agency growth.

You’ll work closely with creative and client services teams, ensuring strategy provides a clear and compelling foundation for creative work and helps clients make better brand decisions.

You will:

• Lead strategic thinking across major brand and packaging projects.
• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and act as a strategic partner.
• Develop clear, compelling strategic narratives grounded in insight, evidence and commercial thinking.
• Work across positioning, proposition, brand architecture, innovation and brand experience.
• Partner closely with creative teams to translate strategy into distinctive brand expression.
• Contribute to new business pitches, proposals and agency growth initiatives.
• Help develop and evolve the agency’s strategic offering.
• Support and mentor more junior members of the strategy team.

About You

You’ll be a strong brand strategist with experience gained within a branding, brand design, creative or innovation consultancy.

You might already be operating at Strategy Director level, or be a strong Senior Strategist looking for the opportunity to step up.

You’ll bring:

• Strong experience working with CPG/FMCG and consumer brands, particularly across brand and packaging challenges.
• A solid grounding in core brand strategy, including positioning, proposition, architecture and brand development.
• Excellent client leadership skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders.
• The ability to turn insight and complexity into clear, compelling strategic narratives.
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how strategy can drive business and brand growth.
• The ability to work collaboratively with creative teams and influence creative outcomes.
• A genuine interest in brands, consumers, culture and the changing creative landscape.
• A proactive, entrepreneurial approach and the confidence to contribute beyond individual client projects.
