Senior Content & Editorial Lead

Team:
Central Brand & Marketing, Content

Location:

London, office-first

Team description the company recently invested in a full brand refresh, giving the business a distinctive new voice with real momentum behind it. The Global Content Chapter, more than 10 content managers working across the organisation, is ready for someone to take that voice further: to shape it into clear frameworks, champion it across every market and channel, and raise the bar for what great content at the company looks like.

This is a chance to build and own that standard from the ground up, working closely with Marketing, Design and Product to make sure the company's words are as sharp and distinctive as its products.

What you'll do
  • Set and enforce editorial standards across the Global Content Chapter, giving direct feedback that sharpens ideas and cuts unnecessary revision rounds
  • Review, edit and approve copy across campaigns, social, CRM, retail and sales, making sure every piece is on brand and commercially clear
  • Build and evolve the verbal identity system: tone of voice guidelines, messaging hierarchies, approved terminology and channel specific guidance
  • Partner with Design, Marketing, Product and regional teams to turn briefs into clear creative direction for internal writers and freelancers
  • Brief, manage and quality control freelance copywriters and external agencies to protect brand integrity in outsourced work
  • Evaluate AI writing tools and set standards for their responsible use, so the team works efficiently without losing quality or distinctiveness
You’ll be great for this role if…
  • Hold a portfolio that demonstrates distinctive, commercially effective writing across brand, campaign and digital formats, not just competent copy
  • Have personally defined, documented and enforced a tone of voice across a complex organisation, rather than simply contributing to someone else's guidelines
  • Strong knowledge of content strategy beyond execution: building messaging hierarchies and editorial frameworks that others can follow
  • Experience giving direct, constructive feedback that raises the standard of a content team's output over time
  • Comfort moving between strategic work (standards, systems) and hands on execution when a piece needs senior creative judgement to get it over the line
Why you should join the company
  • Opportunity to work with a truly global, multicultural team from our Bankside location, in a culturally rich area that bridges deep history and modern living. This involves an office-first setup
  • Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: be part of a workplace that values and promotes diversity, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone's perspectives are respected and embraced
  • Enrolment onto our Virtual Stock Option programme: you will own a stake in the company's future success
  • Generous time off: enjoy 28 days of paid leave, plus bank holidays and special leaves
  • A dedicated annual L&D budget for attending conferences and/or advancing your career through further education
  • Health matters: private health insurance, including optical and dental
  • Life made easier: salary-sacrifice commuter benefits via Gogeta
  • Financial security: retirement scheme (the company matches 7% when you contribute 5%)
  • Peace of mind: life insurance from Met Life for 2× your salary
  • Break4me: 1-month sabbatical after 3 years of service
  • Referral Bonus: earn additional rewards by referring talented individuals to join the the company team
