This role presents an opportunity to join the GSMA Mobile for Development Marketing team and help support and promote innovations in using mobile technology to enable and enhance access to services in low- and middle-income countries. The role will actively engage in and produce all marketing deliverables for the Emerging Tech and Central Insights Unit programmes, along with contributing to wider initiatives that sit across Mobile for Development.
This means we're looking for someone who is energetic, eager to work collaboratively, can actively manage multiple projects, meets deadlines, delivers consistently and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be able to organise efficiently, communicate consistently and effectively, be adaptable, creative and have strong attention to detail.

About the teamGSMA Mobile for Development (M4D) is a dedicated global team within the GSMA that operates at the intersection of the mobile ecosystem and the development sector. Bringing together mobile operators, tech innovators, governments and the development community, M4D identifies opportunities and delivers digital innovations with socio-economic impact in underserved markets. Through its research and insights platform, in-market expertise and community of partners, M4D advances digital and financial inclusion, gender equality, climate and humanitarian action, agriculture and utility service provision, helping to empower underserved populations at scale.
This role sits within the M4D Marketing team, a 10-person team working across a broad portfolio of programmes and initiatives. As part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to impactful work across multiple themes including but not limited to digital inclusion, financial inclusion, climate and humanitarian contexts, while developing your marketing skills across multiple channels, platforms and formats.
About the roleAs Marketing Specialist, you will support the delivery of marketing activities across two Mobile for Development programmes, helping to promote data and insights, MNO partnerships and advocacy initiatives to global audiences. You will work closely with both programme teams to discuss, coordinate and deliver a broad range of marketing outputs across web, email, social media, events and other channels.
In this role, you will contribute to the creation, publication and promotion of content including but not limited to blogs, reports, newsletters, social media assets and event communications. You will also support the coordination of webinars, supplier management and help monitor the performance of marketing activities through reporting and analytics.
Success in this role will come from your ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, maintain strong attention to detail and collaborate confidently with colleagues across different teams and programmes. You will play an important role in ensuring marketing activities are delivered accurately, efficiently and to a high standard, while helping teams communicate complex topics in engaging and accessible ways.
The role forms part of the wider M4D Marketing team and delivers work for the Emerging Tech and Central Insights Unit (CIU) programmes. This will give you exposure to a diverse range of information, material and outputs and the opportunity to work on marketing activities connected to digital inclusion, financial inclusion, climate, humanitarian contexts and other international development topics.
You will be expected to build strong working relationships across programme and marketing teams, take ownership of day-to-day marketing deliverables and become a trusted contributor across multiple projects and campaigns. You will also have the opportunity to develop your technical marketing skills across platforms including Word Press, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, social media and analytics tools, while gaining experience working within a global organisation and international development-focused environment.
About youYou will bring demonstrable experience supporting marketing activities across digital channels, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You will be confident communicating with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders across different teams and cultures, helping to build strong working relationships and ensure projects run smoothly.
You will need strong written English skills and attention to detail to support the publication and promotion of high-quality content across web, email and social media channels. You should also be comfortable creating and adapting visual and written content for different audiences
