Job Description & How to Apply Below
Communications & Partnerships/1920 Worldwide
UK-based/Flexible / Hybrid/3 days per week or full-time/Immediate start
A quick pre-read- We're looking for a capable B2B Account Director to take the lead on an important programme for one of our major clients.
- This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how large businesses work, can deal confidently with senior stakeholders and knows how to turn good thinking into work that delivers results.
- B2B communications experience is essential. Experience in partnerships, channel marketing or commercial activation would be a significant advantage.
- We're open to an experienced independent consultant working three days a week, or someone looking for a more permanent role. What matters is the calibre of the person, their availability and their ability to get moving quickly.
- 1920 Worldwide is a growth and marketing business with a venture studio alongside it. We work with international brands on strategy, innovation, marketing and commercial development, often bringing partnerships and specialists together to make things happen.
- We're a small, senior team. People here take responsibility, work directly with clients and don't hide behind process.
- You will take day-to-day responsibility for a significant B2B communications and marketing programme within a major international business.
- The work brings together business communications, proposition development, marketing programmes, stakeholder engagement and partnership-led opportunities.
- You'll work closely with 1920's leaders, the client's senior team and a network of specialist delivery partners.
- The strategic direction and senior commercial relationships are already established. We need someone who can contribute intelligently to the thinking, own the day-to-day and make sure the work gets delivered.
- The day-to-day client relationship, building confidence with senior stakeholders and becoming their trusted point of contact.
- B2B communications and marketing programmes, from brief through to delivery.
- Translating complex business propositions into clear communications and activation plans.
- Identifying and developing relevant partnership, channel and engagement opportunities.
- Managing work streams, priorities, budgets, timelines and specialist resources.
- Briefing and coordinating internal teams, external partners and freelancers.
- Maintaining strong delivery standards, clear reporting and commercial accountability.
- Contributing ideas and improvements, rather than simply administering projects.
- You will have meaningful experience in B2B marketing or communications, ideally gained in an agency, consultancy or similarly demanding client-facing environment.
- You understand the difference between communicating a brand and helping a business sell a complex product or service.
- You’ll be comfortable with corporate stakeholders, commercial priorities, sales and marketing alignment, and the realities of delivering work within large organisations.
- Experience of B2B partnerships, partner marketing, commercial programmes or channel engagement would be particularly interesting.
- You don't need to be sector specialist. You do need to be commercially curious, quick to learn and able to understand complex businesses.
- Most importantly, you're a doer. Senior enough to advise a client, experienced enough to know what good looks like, and perfectly happy to get into the detail.
- This isn't a pure strategy role, a new-business position or an account management job where the real work is passed down to a large team.
- Equally, we're not looking for someone whose experience is confined to consumer campaigns, sponsorship hospitality or events.
- We need someone who can think, manage relationships and deliver.
- We're flexible on structure. Three days per week would work well, although we'd also consider a full-time appointment for the right person.
- The role is UK-based, with access to London for meetings as required. Some flexibility around international calls may be needed.
- We're looking for someone who can start immediately or at very short notice.
- Compensation will reflect experience and whether the appointment is fractional, contract or permanent.
