Awareness Raising Volunteer - Lewisham

About The Role

Support your local community by helping to ensure that people who are worried about or affected by dementia are aware of the support and advice services offered. You will be local enough to travel to and around the following postcodes: SE14, BR1, SE13, SE23, SE26, SE4, SE14, SE8, SE6, SE12.

You’ll support local events, hold information stands, and display leaflets in venues highly visible in your community, such as libraries and GP surgeries. You’ll keep information up to date and accurate, establish connections with local organisations and community groups, and help achieve widespread awareness of the support we offer. As a representative of Alzheimer’s Society, branded clothing will be provided, and you may be included in event pictures to showcase the Society’s work in local media.

You’ll be great for the role if:

• You enjoy meeting members of the public and attending local events.
• You are passionate about raising awareness about dementia in your local community.
• You have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• You are able to volunteer both independently and within a local team.
• You are able to travel to a variety of venues or events, bringing with you the relevant support information and materials.

Minimum age – 18 years old

This is a flexible volunteer role which is carried out within your local area on various days and times to suit your availability.
