Would you like to have an impact and influence on the latest ecological research that receives funding? We have voluntary positions to join our Grants Committee. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and direct the Society’s Grant Portfolio in a way that best supports the delivery of our vision for a world where nature and people thrive.

As a registered charity and non-profit organisation, we’re dedicated to advancing ecological science and promoting the importance of ecology in addressing global challenges. We support a vibrant, inclusive community of researchers, practitioners, and enthusiasts through funding, events, publications, and policy engagement.

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

Members are chosen for the Committee according to their relevant experience and to represent and reflect the BES community. To achieve a balance of knowledge and skills in our groups, we are especially looking for people who have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Outreach
  • Microbial Ecology
  • Evolutionary Ecology

We also hope that you will have an understanding of the work of the BES and be able and keen to represent the BES and our vision and aims.

For The Grants Committee We Are Especially Interested In Hearing From

  • Early career researchers
  • Members from under‑represented & marginalised ethnicities
  • Ecologists organisations other than universities, e.g. charities and environmental NGOs.
