Relief International (RI) is seeking a Desk Coordinator to join its Program Implementation Department

The Desk Coordinator will work in close collaboration with the Program Implementation
, Resource Development
, and Awards Management teams to ensure effective project cycle management, high-quality program delivery, and compliance with donor requirements. This position requires a proactive and flexible individual with demonstrated experience in humanitarian and development programming.
The role reports to the Desk Manager (with a dotted line to the Desk Director) and involves regular field travel to provide direct technical support, capacity building, and surge assistance during humanitarian responses.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram and Proposal Development
The Desk Coordinator plays a leading role in program design and proposal development
, ensuring all submissions are evidence-based, strategically aligned, and compliant with donor standards. Working closely with country offices, the Coordinator supports the creation of solicited and unsolicited proposals
, as well as modifications and extensions to existing projects.
Responsibilities include coordinating proposal timelines, leading or contributing to proposal writing and cost development, managing internal review processes, and ensuring timely submission via donor portals. The Coordinator also supports partnership identification, donor due diligence, and proposal pipeline tracking.
A core part of this role involves fostering a culture of collaborative design
, guiding workshops that bring together field and headquarters staff to shape strong, context-driven program models. The Desk Coordinator ensures that all proposal components—technical, financial, and narrative—are coherent, compliant, and reflective of RI’s strategic priorities.
The Desk Coordinator provides essential grants management support
, working alongside the Desk Manager and other team members to ensure projects meet donor and organizational requirements. This includes coordinating reporting processes, reviewing and editing reports, and ensuring all documentation adheres to donor guidelines and RI standards.
The role involves maintaining up-to-date grant trackers, facilitating grant modifications, and collaborating with the Global Awards Team to ensure accuracy and timeliness. The Desk Coordinator also assists in improving internal processes, contributing to the refinement of standard operating procedures, templates, and tools to enhance overall program quality and efficiency.
Communication and RepresentationThe Desk Coordinator supports external communication by ensuring clear and timely updates to donors, partners, and internal stakeholders. This includes producing high-quality program briefs, capacity statements, and country profiles for business development and advocacy purposes.
In collaboration with the Desk Manager, the Coordinator ensures consistent messaging and accurate representation of RI’s work and impact. The role may also involve liaising with donors and partners to strengthen relationships and ensure transparency and trust in all interactions.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Development, Humanitarian Studies, Management, or a related field.
