. The Charity was founded in 1631 on the death of John Marshall, a baker in Southwark. In his will he left the balance of his modest estate to trustees to be used for charitable purposes. The charity is funded solely from this endowment and carries out its philanthropic work primarily by awarding grants for the Marshall’s Educational Foundation, restoring and repairing parsonages and Anglican churches, and acting as a patron to Christchurch, Southwark.
Salary: £90,000 per annum + benefits.
The post holder will be a key part of a small, dedicated and friendly team and will play a pivotal role in the organisation by leading on all matters of finance, compliance, regulatory and risk management, and office administration systems.
Ideal Candidate Will- demonstrate senior financial experience including accounting, cash management, liaison with contractors, relevant law
- hold a professional accountancy qualification
- possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- demonstrate proven administrative, IT and organisational skills
- have experience of corporate and fiscal governance gained within the professional, charitable or wider not-for-profit sectors
- be supportive of the Charity’s aims and sympathetic to the cause of the Church of England
- have a positive "can do" attitude
