Philanthropy & Investment Lead

Starting Salary: £63,533

Contract: Full-time, permanent contract

Location: Two days a week in the London office, with occasional time at a partner organisation's office. Travel to clients and charities is expected.

About Our Client

Our client is an independent charitable foundation, backed by a major UK banking group and its people. They want everyone to be in a good place — personally, in a home that's a good place to live, and in a community that's a good place to belong.

They play their role by connecting and catalysing community-led change, providing the money, time, tools and connections that build organisations' capacity and capability, to make people's lives better and their communities stronger.

They back people and communities across England and Wales, to make that happen, because when you back brilliant people, brilliant things happen. Their communities are full of ambitious, energetic and determined people stepping up to make their neighbours' lives better and their communities grow stronger. Day in, day out.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a new philanthropy pilot from the ground up, including the design of a minimum viable product to test the potential for digital giving and community action through a banking partner's app. Working with their banking partner and colleagues across the foundation, you will explore how digital innovation could unlock greater giving, strengthen community action and help shape the future of philanthropy.

As Philanthropy & Investment Lead, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering our client's Philanthropy Pilot, taking ownership of its development, delivery and evaluation. Working across the organisation and with key partners, you will bring together people, ideas and resources to turn ambition into reality.

Alongside this, you will be responsible for project managing and coordinating activity across the organisation, liaising on a day-to-day basis with their banking partner, preparing materials and proposals, and commissioning support required.

About You

You are a proactive self-starter, who takes full ownership of driving forwards progress at pace, solving problems as they arise, and actively seeking out and implementing new opportunities. With a creative and innovative approach, you are able to bring people together around a shared vision and build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Your excellent leadership and influencing skills enable you to gain consensus, maintain momentum and deliver results across complex partnerships.

You are an excellent communicator, equally comfortable engaging senior leaders, trustees, corporate partners and colleagues.

You will bring experience in philanthropy, fundraising, partnership development or a related field, alongside strong project management skills and a passion for creating positive social impact.

Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

They hold Disability Confident Employer status (Level
2) and are working towards full status by 2027. This means that if you're a disabled applicant and your CV and application answers clearly demonstrate that you meet the essential criteria for the role, they will invite you to interview.

More broadly, our client is committed to building a diverse team that reflects the communities and people they work with. They believe that diversity of background, experience and perspective makes them stronger and helps them make better decisions. They actively welcome applications from people who are under-represented in the charity sector, including people from Black, Asian and minoritised ethnic communities, disabled people, and those with experience of the issues the charities they fund work to address.
