Hours: 35 per week (Mon - Fri)

As a Youth Engagement & Early Careers Intern, you'll support projects that help young people access opportunities, develop confidence and build career resilience. Working alongside colleagues across the British Red Cross, you'll gather insights from young people, contribute to youth engagement activities, and help us better understand how we can make paid opportunities more accessible and inclusive. This is a unique opportunity to gain practical experience while making a real contribution to our work with young people.

What will a day in the life of a Youth Engagement & Early Careers Intern involve?

• Engaging with young people and gathering feedback to help shape projects, resources and opportunities.
• Supporting youth engagement events, workshops and activities.
• Analysing recruitment data relating to young people and identifying ways to improve access to paid opportunities.
• Developing resources, case studies and insights that support youth engagement, career resilience and early careers opportunities.

To be a successful Youth Engagement & Early Careers Intern, what will you need?

• A genuine interest in supporting young people and creating positive opportunities for others.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an in-person Assessment Centre in London, likely during the week commencing 5 October 2026.

For this role, we expect high volumes of applications. As such, it may not be practical or appropriate to interview all people living with disabilities that meet the minimum criteria. In this case, we may limit the overall number of interviews offered to both people applying under the disability confident scheme and applications made not under the scheme.

Who is eligible for this role?

This internship is open to young people aged 18-25 who can commit to a full-time placement from November 2026 to May 2027, in line with the funding criteria for this role.
