Development & Income Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Development and Income Manager to lead our fundraising and income generation activities, helping to secure the long-term financial sustainability and growth of a well-established community organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished fundraiser with a proven track record of securing income from trusts, foundations, statutory funders, corporate partners and community fundraising initiatives. Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and senior leadership team, you will develop and deliver a diverse fundraising strategy, build strategic partnerships and maximise funding opportunities to support vital community services.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and income generation strategy.
• Identify, research and secure funding from trusts, foundations, statutory bodies, corporate partners and other funding sources.
• Prepare and submit high-quality grant applications, tender bids and partnership proposals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, commissioners and key stakeholders.
• Develop corporate partnerships, sponsorship opportunities and employee engagement programmes.
• Explore opportunities to grow individual giving, community fundraising and unrestricted income.
• Maintain a robust funding pipeline and monitor income targets, deadlines and reporting requirements.
• Work collaboratively with service managers to gather evidence of impact and produce compelling reports for funders.
• Represent the organisation at networking events, partnership meetings and sector forums.
• Support strategic partnerships and collaborative funding opportunities.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Proven success in securing funding from trusts, foundations, statutory funders and other grant-making bodies.
• Experience of writing successful funding bids, grant applications and tender submissions.
• Experience developing and delivering fundraising or income generation strategies.
• Strong relationship-building skills with funders, corporate partners and key stakeholders.
• Excellent written communication, proposal writing and presentation skills.
• Strong organisational, planning and project management abilities, with the ability to manage multiple funding opportunities and deadlines.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and partners.
• Experience working within the voluntary, charity or community sector.
• Knowledge of the social and economic challenges affecting diverse communities in East London.
• An understanding of current funding priorities across government, charitable trusts and other funding bodies.
• Experience of statutory tendering processes.
• Experience developing corporate partnerships, sponsorship opportunities, individual giving programmes or community fundraising initiatives.
• Experience using monitoring, evaluation and impact data to produce compelling funding applications and reports.
