Are you passionate about supporting families facing challenging circumstances and helping communities thrive?

Charity People are recruiting for a well-established charity to find them a Family Support Coordinator to support families with children under five.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible difference to parents and carers experiencing a range of complex challenges, including perinatal mental health concerns, housing difficulties, domestic abuse, immigration issues, multiple births, and social isolation.

Working closely with families, volunteers, social workers, and partner agencies, you will play a key role in coordinating support services, managing volunteers and ensuring families receive the help they need at the right time.

This varied role combines family support, volunteer management, and safeguarding responsibilities. You'll assess referrals, coordinate support for families, recruit and supervise volunteers, and maintain strong relationships with local services and professionals.

Key responsibilities:
  • Managing referrals and carrying out family assessments
  • Supporting families with a range of additional and complex needs
  • Recruiting, training and retaining a volunteer network of around 30 volunteers
  • Conducting DBS and reference checks
  • Managing safeguarding concerns and escalating where appropriate
  • Maintaining accurate records using Lamplight and other systems
  • Building relationships with social workers, health professionals and community organisations
  • Organising volunteer training sessions, coffee mornings and family events
  • Promoting the charity and its services within the local community

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, organised and confident working with families experiencing complex circumstances.

You will bring:
  • Experience supporting children, families, parents, or vulnerable adults
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and risk assessment processes
  • Understanding of perinatal mental health and family support services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems such as Lamplight
  • The ability to build effective relationships with families, volunteers, and partner agencies
  • A flexible approach and willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential, and it would be highly desirable to live in or around Ealing, as the role involves community based work and home visits around Ealing.
