NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post is 37 hours per week, consisting of days, nights and weekends. Effective 1 April 2026, the full‑time working hours for all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours.
Responsibilities- Assessment, delivery and supervision of all care needs within the ward environment.
- Use sound clinical skills for assessment of patient’s needs, implementation and evaluation of evidence‑based care.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment to a high clinical standard, being forward‑thinking, flexible and able to work effectively within a changing and dynamic environment.
- Expand your skills and knowledge across a diverse range of surgical patients, with guidance and support whether newly qualified or new to the ward/department.
- Develop and implement a programme of care, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality care to patients within the ward environment.
- Work within a flexible shift pattern of both day and night rotations and weekend working, working independently and as part of an integrated team.
- Possess excellent communication skills and decision making with evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC.
- Live NMC UK pin required.
