The shift pattern for this post is 37 hours per week, consisting of days, nights and weekends. Effective 1 April 2026, the full‑time working hours for all Agenda for Change posts will be reduced to 36 hours.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic band 5 Registered Nurse to join our passionate and dedicated surgical nursing team. This will be based in ward 29, a 24‑bedded ward within the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
Responsibilities- Assess, deliver and supervise all care needs within the ward environment.
- Possess sound clinical skills for patient assessment, implementation and evaluation of evidence‑based care.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment to a high clinical standard, being forward‑thinking, flexible and able to work effectively within a changing and dynamic environment.
- Expand skills and knowledge across a diverse range of surgical patients and support learning and education development, whether newly qualified or new to the ward.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, develop and implement care programmes to ensure high‑quality care.
- Work independently with initiative while being part of the integrated team, within a flexible shift pattern of day and night rotations and weekend working.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and sound decision‑making, supported by evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Currently a Registered Nurse with the National Medicines Council (NMC).
- Live NMC UK PIN required to be considered for the post.
- Band 5 experience or equivalent and a sound clinical skill set.
