Richmond Pharmacology is a dedicated clinical trials unit. As a full-service Clinical Research Organisation, our expertise spans consultancy and concept development through to final reporting. We work with leading experts in a multitude of therapy areas.

Additionally, we have a new private out patient clinic London Bridge Healthcare ().

The team specialise in a variety of medical services including Varicose Vein Treatments – Radio frequency Ablation, Coronary Health Checks, Gynaecology, Urology, Dermatology and hand and wrist pain.

The Role

This is a shared role as Resuscitation Practitioner and Clinic Nurse, working three days as Resuscitation Practitioner covering the clinical trials unit and two days as a clinic nurse working at our private Healthcare unit.

We are seeking experienced clinic nurses and ODP’s, with theatre and resuscitation experience to join our team.

Working at our private healthcare unit, the role will include assisting consultants with minor surgery, pre-surgical and post-surgical patient care assessments, wound management, measuring of blood pressure, ECG’s, planning, implementation and evaluation of care in addition to providing effective support to the clinicians and staff.

As resuscitation practitioner, the role will include ensuring clinical and telemetry safety coverage, imparting emergency based clinical skills training to align with ALS/ILS (RCUK) emergency safety standards and facilitating the fulfilment of phase one accreditation criteria.

Main duties and responsibilities

Clinic Nurse

  • To provide nursing services to the clinic by assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
  • Provide nursing treatments to patients independently or in participation with nurse colleagues or clinicians with reference to agreed protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain continued education by attending relevant courses and study days as deemed useful or necessary for professional development.
  • To be familiar with changes and progress in nursing care. Evaluating and adapting care using evidence-based practice in consultation with colleagues as a forum for team education, development and audit.
  • Nursing procedures to include – wound management, measuring of blood pressure, taking blood samples, ECG’s, assisting consultants with minor surgery, pre-surgical patient care and post surgical patient care training will be given to safeguard and promote safe practice.
  • Advise patients with pre-and post-surgery care.
  • Participate in activities and audits required to assess compliance with CQC essential standards.
  • Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient’s health care and registration with the clinic.
  • Maintain effective liaison with other agencies and staff concerned with patient care and with other disciplines within the clinic, with appropriate regard to confidentiality.
  • To have working knowledge of equipment used in the surgery.
  • Participate in the assessment of the effectiveness of health care provided by the clinic.
  • Inform the Clinical Services Manager or Head of Private Healthcare of any reported or suspected failings in the provision of care within the clinic.
  • Participate in taking care of your own health and safety. Staff must not do anything to compromise the health and safety of either their colleagues or themselves. Staff should also be aware of the responsibilities placed in them by legislation to ensure health and safety procedures are followed. This will help to maintain a safe workplace for all.

Resuscitation Practitioner

  • Take a leadership role in clinical emergencies within the unit.
  • Utilise ALS instructor status, to develop resuscitation skills within the team.
  • Ensure BLS/ALS/ILS staff are compliant with RCUK/Richmond requirements, facilitating the unit’s adherence to phase one requirements…
