Overview

Outpatient Services – Band 5 Registered Nurses. St George's hospital across the 4 sites is a leading teaching hospital with a reputation for quality of care, treatment, education and research. We provide general, specialist, and tertiary services to all age groups. We recognise that high quality healthcare starts with recruiting the right staff.

Outpatients see on average 65,000 patients a month, working with a wide range of specialties to provide the best possible patient experience. The role is based at Queen Mary’s Hospital but may be required to work across the 4 sites. You will need to be a dynamic and motivated NMC registered nurse and demonstrate leadership in a clinical area.

Responsibilities
  • Main day-to-day management of the clinic, deputising in the absence of the Sister, and management of potential complaints.
  • Chaperoning, venepuncture, assisting with minor procedures, day cases, ECGs, bladder scans and flow rates.
  • Participate in the emergency bleep holder schedule; supervision of junior staff; undertake junior staff PDRs.
  • Support a range of clinics across numerous specialties within Outpatient services.
  • Lead and contribute to the development of nurse-led services and new skills/knowledge acquisition across specialties.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Dynamic and motivated NMC registered nurse.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership in a clinical area.
  • Willingness to work across multiple sites and participate in rotation and development programmes.
