Job Summary
We are looking for a Band 6 paediatric nurse to work within our Surgical Children's ward at The Royal London Hospital.
7F specialises in Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, providing a continuation of care service for children following surgery and long‑term chronic illness. The ward also offers spinal surgery, with a dedicated spinal team and an enhanced monitoring bay for patients requiring it. It serves as an intermediary between the wards and the Paediatric Critical Care Unit, emphasising multidisciplinary working to ensure holistic care of the highest quality.
As part of a versatile and dynamic service, you will need excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills through diverse training opportunities. You will have access to university modules such as the High‑Dependency course, Evidence‑Based Orthopaedic Care, paediatric in‑house trauma study days, and APLS.
You will also develop managerial and leadership skills by supporting the ward manager to enhance services, manage day‑to‑day ward operations, and lead a team of staff.
Main duties of the jobTo provide clinical leadership to a designated nursing team, ensuring delivery of the highest standard of individual‑ised, family‑centred care to children and their families in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team.
