Overview
The main role of the Junior Research Nurse is to support the research teams in the running of investigator initiated, NIHR and commercial clinical trials. The post-holder will work on recruitment of patients onto clinical trials running within intervention cardiology, as well as care and monitoring of patients during research treatment. The post holder will manage and coordinate follow-up of patients on their portfolio of studies.
Responsibilities- Support the delivery of clinical trials and patient recruitment.
- Recruit patients onto clinical trials and monitor them during their research treatment.
- Manage and coordinate follow-up of patients across their portfolio of studies.
- Create and maintain files for clinical trials, collect trial data, and complete case report forms.
- Provide information on clinical trials for the cardiac team as required and develop skills and knowledge relating to the conduct of clinical trials, the therapies and disease site.
- Based within the cardiology research department at the Barts Heart Centre; may be required to cover multiple sites within the trust.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with post‑registration experience within cardiology or a clinical Research Practitioner; preferably registered with the Academy for Health Care Sciences.
- Demonstrates strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Computer literate, flexible, and able to manage time effectively; excellent time management and IT skills are essential.

Contract and OrganisationThe primary responsibility for this post holder is to support the delivery of clinical trials and research patient recruitment. The post holder will be based within the cardiology research department at the Barts Heart Centre. You might be required to cover multiple sites within the trust.
