Neonatal Staff Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and caring neonatal nurse to join our well‑established, friendly neonatal multidisciplinary team.

We are a Local Neonatal Unit within the busy North Central & East London Operational Delivery Neonatal Network, actively participating in Network groups and business. We are passionate about working in partnership with parents and delivering safe, family‑centred care. Our unit has 24 cots: 2 intensive, 6 high‑dependency and 16 special‑care. As a Level 2 LNU we provide excellent care for preterm babies from 27 weeks’ gestation and for sick newborns, stabilising those born at lower gestations prior to transfer to NICU.

Applicants must be RN, RSCN or RM with neonatal qualifications and skills. We welcome candidates who can work a variety of shifts, including internal rotation to night duty, weekends and bank holidays.

The post holder will:

• Develop, assess, implement and evaluate individualised care plans, utilising specialist skills to provide family‑centred care with the support of senior staff and the ward manager.
• Promote a friendly and supportive environment for parents and relatives, enabling them to learn to care for their babies.
• Support personal development and career progression through training and educational opportunities.

North Mid is part of the North Central London Integrated Care System, which includes the NHS and local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. We work closely with partners, and many of our financial and performance objectives are measured at this system level. We are proud of our staff and ensure their training allows them to provide excellent clinical care.

The unit also serves as a training site for medical students from UCL and St George’s University, and for nursing and midwifery students from Middlesex and City Universities.
