Staff Nurse; Band 5 Endoscopy

We are pleased to offer an exciting fixed term opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our dedicated and dynamic Endoscopy Unit. This position is ideally suited to newly qualified nurses, particularly those who have undertaken a student placement in Endoscopy and are keen to build on their experience within a supportive, high‑performing team.

Our Endoscopy service provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, delivering safe, high-quality care to patients across elective and urgent pathways. You will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team committed to maintaining excellent clinical standards, continuous improvement, and patient‑centred practice.

Essential:

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with NMC registration (or awaiting registration if newly qualified).
• Enthusiasm for developing skills and knowledge in Endoscopy nursing.
• A caring, patient‑focused approach with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a busy multidisciplinary team.

Desirable:

• Previous Endoscopy placement experience as a student nurse.
• Knowledge of JAG (Joint Advisory Group) standards or an interest in achieving competency within JETS training.

• Assist with the preparation and safe delivery of endoscopic procedures.
• Provide high quality, compassionate care before, during, and after procedures.
• Support senior staff in maintaining patient safety, infection control, and clinical governance.
• Contribute to patient assessment, care planning, and evaluation.
• Participate in decontamination processes in line with national guidelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold professional standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
