Ward Manager​/Senior Sister​/Charge Nurse

Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital is expanding its Children Hospital and seeks a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to lead a multidisciplinary team in a 27‑bed ward focused on neuro‑musculoskeletal care for children and young people. The role involves clinical leadership, positive staff engagement, delivery of high‑quality care, and maintaining safe departmental management while embodying the NHS Chief Nursing Officers vision for Compassion in Practice.

• Provide clinical leadership and serve as a positive role model to promote a supportive work environment.
• Act as an expert practitioner in nursing care of neuro‑musculoskeletal conditions to ensure high‑quality care for children, young people and families.
• Ensure responsiveness to care and maintain positive experiences for children, young people and families.
• Maintain safe, effective and efficient management of the department within allocated resources.
• Promote a “can‑do” attitude for continual improvement through quality‑improvement initiatives, research and evidence‑based practice.
• Assume delegated responsibilities for the department in the absence of the Matron or Associate Chief Nurse for Children and young people.
• Lead the team in adopting and applying the principles of the NHS Chief Nursing Officers vision for Compassion in Practice.
