Job Overview

Are you an experienced and dynamic critical care nurse who is passionate about education and staff development? We are looking for Critical Care Practice Education Facilitators to provide education and practice development for our critical care service across both hospital sites.

Successful applicants will have completed a postgraduate Care Course (60 credits) and possess extensive critical care experience, knowledge, and skills. You must demonstrate effective leadership and managerial skills, be self‑motivated, energetic, and receptive to change, and be able to lead, oversee and develop the delivery of evidence‑based, high‑quality clinical nursing care to patients and families in the critical care environment.

You will act as an expert practitioner and role model, working strategically and operationally within the team to promote teaching, training, and ongoing development of a multi‑professional team. The role requires flexibility, including shifts, weekends and bank holidays, and the ability to travel between the two hospital sites.

  • Work cross‑site with all staff members, department managers, the critical care matron, and the medical team to support training and development needs.
  • Provide clinical support to newly qualified and experienced nurses to ensure best practice, alongside formal classroom and online teaching.
  • Collaborate with the critical care management team to establish and maintain an active learning environment, updating and developing critical care practices and training.
  • Act as a change agent, supporting senior nursing staff to drive nursing strategy, standards, and shape the future of nursing practice.
  • Standardise nursing practice and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure staff achieve required clinical competencies through the development and implementation of educational packages tailored to service, trust, and individual needs.
Qualifications
  • Post‑graduate Care Course (60 credits) completed.
  • Extensive critical care experience, knowledge, and skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
