Salary: £32,073 – £39,043 per annum (pro‑rata) plus Health and Care Community allowance

Job Overview

You will work as a registered nurse in the 0‑19 public health team, delivering universal services for children and young people, and supporting families and carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver the 0‑19 Universal Service and the Healthy Child Programme, including screening, immunisations, developmental reviews and health education.
  • Provide targeted interventions and referrals to specialist services, ensuring equitable health outcomes.
  • Participate in health promotion activities and multi‑disciplinary team meetings.
  • Assess health needs, promote child wellbeing, and support child protection and safeguarding actions.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, report incidents, and contribute to quality improvement.
  • Engage with statutory and voluntary agencies, maintain good working relationships, and support service development.
Qualifications & Training
  • Registered Nurse (RN/RMN/RSCN/RNLD) with current NMC registration.
  • Evidence of post‑registration education, e.g., Mentorship Qualification.
  • Immunisation training and experience.
  • Safeguarding module completion.
Experience
  • Experience as a community nurse or public health nurse.
  • Experience working within multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of safeguarding children and child protection procedures.
  • Experience of clinical governance and audit processes.
Essential Requirements
  • Act as a registered practitioner with professional accountability.
  • Maintain a current effective status with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Have access to personal transport or a full UK driving licence.
