Are you a passionate Children's Nurse looking to make a real difference to children and families in their own communities? We are looking for a compassionate, motivated Registered Children's Nurse to join our Children's Community Nursing Team, supporting children and young people with a wide range of health needs, helping them receive high-quality care closer to home and reduce hospital admissions and attendances.

Working across the London Boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Westminster, you will provide clinical care, education and support to children, young people and their families, and play an important role in supporting student nurses and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Main duties of the job

As a Children's Community Nurse, you will deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care to children and young people in a variety of community settings, including their homes, schools and nurseries. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver safe, effective and child‑centred nursing care to children and young people with a range of health needs.
  • Support children, young people, families and carers to develop confidence in managing health conditions and treatment plans.
  • Contribute to reducing hospital admissions by providing care closer to home wherever appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with health, social care and education professionals to ensure coordinated care and positive outcomes.
  • Provide teaching, training and support to families, carers and education staff where required.
  • Support the learning and development of student nurses and other colleagues.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical practice, safeguarding and professional accountability.
Education and Qualification
  • RGN / RSCN / RN (Child)
  • NMC Registration
  • Teaching Experience
  • Evidence of post‑registration education and training
Experience
  • Experience of teaching.
  • Experience of working with students.
  • Experience of working with multiprofessional team.
  • Knowledge of positive aspects of community nursing.
  • Minimum 1 year post‑registration nursing experience.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Nursing and Midwifery Council Code.
  • Knowledge and experience of Personal Development Planning.
  • Knowledge and demonstration of the use of Evidence Based Care.
  • Knowledge of equal opportunities and their impact in practice.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to assess a situation and implement an appropriate plan of care.

  • Knowledge and experience of Clinical supervision.
