Staff Nurse Burns Centre - Burns, Band 5

Job Overview

The Staff Nurse will assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate high‑quality patient care within a multi-disciplinary team. The unit includes 2x ITU, 2x HDU, 12 ward beds, 2 outpatient clinic rooms and an operating theatre. We operate within the London and South East England Burns Network.

• Provide high‑quality clinical care to patients, in line with the Trust values and professional regulations.
• Accept delegated responsibility for specific activities/areas from the senior nurse in charge.
• Adhere to Trust policies, objectives, protocols and local guidelines, while supporting team members.
• Work autonomously and within a team to deliver high standards of care.
• Communicate in line with Trust values to patients, relatives and staff at all times.
• Continue to develop, practice and expand general and specialist nursing skills.
• Maintain professional and ethical responsibility and be aware of medico‑legal aspects of nursing in line with professional, regulatory and local guidance.

• Registered with the NMC.
• Minimum 12 months of general nursing experience.
• Keen interest in Burns/Plastic Surgery or HDU.
• Enthusiastic to learn new skills and knowledge within the Burns speciality.
