Role OverviewWe are looking for a supportive and motivated Deputy Registered Manager to join our team in Greenwich. This role is all about making a real difference to people’s lives.
Responsibilities- work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure people receive the right support in a way that works for them, meeting the requirements of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), funders, and Choice Support’s policies and procedures.
- deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence and help lead several support services for people with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs.
- ensure support is up to date, encourage independence, support people to stay connected with their family, and help them work towards their goals; ensure safe handling of health, medication, and finances while building strong, trusting relationships with families and professionals.
- build a supportive team culture where everyone feels valued; lead Team Managers and Support Workers to perform at their best through training and feedback; support recruitment, induction, and staffing to ensure services remain safe.
- keep teams informed and motivated, act as a key point of contact for colleagues, families, and professionals, and take on on‑call duties when needed.
- ensure records are accurate, person‑centred, and that any concerns are acted on quickly so that people are always safe.
- at least two years’ experience managing more than one social care service or leading managers in a care setting.
- a Level 4 qualification in Health and Social Care or a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (or working towards it).
- good knowledge of CQC rules and standards as well as the key legislation such as the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding.
- great communication skills, strong leadership experience and a track record of supporting others to lead well.
- experience of managing budgets, staffing, and team or service performance.
- able to use systems such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and care management systems (Nourish, Zellis MyView and Sona).
- organised, keep accurate records, and understand the importance of good documentation and confidentiality.
- kind, positive, genuinely cares about people, good listener, good communicator, flexible.
- ready to take the next step in your career, lead a team and help shape a new role while making a real difference to people’s lives.
You will work across the services within your responsibility within Greenwich, and spend time working in the registered office/location, the community, and attending meetings or training when needed.
HoursThis is a full‑time role (37.5 hours per week). You will work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including helping with rotas, ensuring safe staffing, and taking part in the on‑call rota.
