About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at HMP Pentonville, a category B male prison in London with a capacity of 1200 inmates and serving as a remand prison awaiting trial. The prison is located 10 minutes from Kings Cross station and offers free parking.

Hours

37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Salary

Full‑time position with an annual salary up to £71,152.

Candidate requirements

Candidates must have a legal right to work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Responsibilities
  • Use expert clinical skills to assess and manage a wide range of complex patient problems, providing clinical leadership for the team.
  • Act as a role model, ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times; support senior clinicians on site as part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients.
  • Work with the team to ensure patient safety, manage complex cases, and apply the most up‑to‑date treatment methodology.

What we’ll look for in you

We are looking for caring, compassionate, and driven professionals who can help us drive our vision for a fair and inclusive healthcare access to all.

  • Registered professional with current registration (NMC, HCPC).
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Master’s in Advanced Practice or equivalent.
  • Recognised prescribing qualification.
  • Understanding of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, evidence‑based practice and national standards.

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
