Location:

Oakfield Surgery, Penge, Borough of Bromley.

Hours:

25 hours per week, preferably Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

We are a training practice looking for a motivated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team and deliver a range of clinical services including chronic disease management, health promotion, cervical screening, immunisations and wound care.

• Provide cervical screening services in line with national screening programmes.
• Administer immunisations and vaccinations (adult and childhood).
• Deliver wound care, dressings and treatment room services.
• Undertake NHS Health Checks and routine health screening.
• Perform ECGs as required.
• Administer long‑acting injections including Depo‑Provera, Vitamin B12 and Zoladex.
• Support management of long‑term conditions such as diabetes, asthma, COPD and hypertension.
• Assist with infection prevention and control procedures and audits.
• Provide health education and lifestyle advice to patients and carers.
• Promote preventative healthcare and screening uptake.
• Deliver patient‑centred care in a respectful and compassionate manner.
• Operate within practice protocols, policies and national clinical guidelines.
• Maintain accurate, timely and confidential clinical records.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement and significant event reviews.
• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and external healthcare professionals.
• Work collaboratively with GPs, pharmacists, allied healthcare professionals and administrative staff.
• Maintain professional registration and meet revalidation requirements.
• Engage in training, supervision and continuing professional development.
• Contribute to a positive, supportive and professional team environment.
• Adhere to all practice policies including safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection.
• Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required.

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to revalidation.
• Qualification in cervical cytology (smear taking).
• Qualification in chronic disease management (asthma, diabetes, COPD).
• Mentorship or teaching qualification.
• Experience working as an RGN in a clinical setting.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team in a healthcare environment.
• Experience providing direct patient care safely and patient‑centred.
• Experience delivering vaccinations and immunisations.
• Experience in wound care and treatment room procedures.
• Experience in cervical screening (or willingness to undertake training).
• Experience managing patients with long‑term conditions (asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension).
• Experience maintaining accurate and confidential clinical records using electronic patient record systems.
• Experience effective communication with patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
• Experience working in line with clinical guidelines, policies and protocols.
• Experience working in a general practice or primary care setting.
• Experience administering long‑acting injections (Depo‑Provera, Vitamin B12, Zoladex).
• Experience undertaking NHS Health Checks.
• Experience performing ECGs.
• Experience in health promotion and patient education.
• Experience participating in audits and quality improvement activities.
• Experience working in a training practice environment.
