Position Overview
The Operations Manager Nursing Services plays a key leadership role in supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality nursing care across Jewish Cares’ three nursing homes. Working closely with Registered Managers, clinical leads, and multidisciplinary teams, the postholder provides operational oversight, performance management and quality assurance to ensure services meet regulatory requirements and deliver excellent outcomes for residents. The role supports the implementation of clinical governance frameworks, drives continuous improvement and prepares homes for inspections, audits and compliance monitoring.
The role is a multi‑site leadership position requiring strong operational management skills, clinical understanding and a commitment to person‑centred care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership, coaching and support to Registered Managers and senior teams.
- Set and monitor objectives relating to quality, occupancy, staffing, budgets and operational performance.
- Conduct 1:1s, coaching sessions and performance reviews.
- Support managers to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care and operational excellence.
- Provide day‑to‑day clinical and operational oversight across nursing services.
- Support teams with medication management, infection prevention and control, risk assessment, end‑of‑life care and nursing documentation.
- Monitor clinical quality indicators and ensure improvement actions are completed.
- Escalate safeguarding concerns, incidents and clinical risks to senior leadership.
- Work collaboratively with the Quality Assurance & Impact Team and wider departments to support effective governance processes.
- Ensure audits, complaints, incidents, feedback and action plans contribute to continuous improvement.
- Promote regulatory readiness and support homes during inspections and contract monitoring.
- Work closely with CQC and Compliance Lead to embed best practice and review feedback.
- Provide practical day‑to‑day operational support to Registered Managers including staffing coordination, rota oversight, documentation and routine communications.
- Assist with short‑term management cover when required.
- Support homes to achieve occupancy and financial performance targets and remove operational barriers.
- Promote excellent customer service and positive engagement with residents, families, staff, volunteers and external professionals.
- Act as a visible, approachable and supportive leader across multiple sites.
- Market and promote opportunities for potential new residents to access Jewish Care services.
- Lead and support cross‑home initiatives focused on admissions, wellbeing, hospitality, activities and quality improvement.
- Encourage innovation, learning and adoption of new technologies and best practice.
- Support sustainable improvements through strong manager engagement and ownership.
• Registered nurse with senior leadership experience in nursing or adult social care settings.
• Strong people skills, sound judgement and a proactive approach to supporting teams and driving continuous improvement.
• Experience in multi‑site management and clinical governance a plus.
