Paediatric Recovery Lead Nurse

A Paediatric Recovery Lead Nurse opportunity has arisen in this reputable private hospital. The successfully appointed person will be responsible for leading the Paediatric Surgical services within Theatres and Recovery. They will be accountable for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating high quality post anaesthetic care to adults, children and young persons, as well as responsible for ensuring compliance with CQC standards in relation to Paediatric surgical services.
Salary and Benefits- £50,000 to £56,500 per annum, depending on experience/skill set.

- Permanent, full‑time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Central North London.
- Registered Nurse (UK NMC).
- Paediatric Dual Registered Nurse with a Teaching/Mentorship qualification.
- Recognised postgraduate paediatric professional development – critical care, anaesthetics or recovery.
- Paediatric competencies and EPALS/APLS provider.
- Experience with in the role of Paediatric Recovery Nurse and within the Critical Care environment.
- Competence in delivering family‑centre care, considering the changing physiological, emotional, and psychological needs of children and young people.
- Competence in delivering a high level of critical care and post‑anaesthetic care.
- Understanding of clinical governance and implications for practice.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Excellent organisational skills, verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to time‑manage, prioritise care/duties and direct others to do the same.
- Lead on the provision of surgical and post‑anaesthetic services for children and young persons.
- Manage and lead the unit as rostered, to provide support to the Duty Managers, Ward Managers and Theatre Suite.
- Provide supervision and support to the team in relation to paediatric services.
- Ensure the provision of a welcoming, caring and safe environment for patients and their families.
- Work closely with consultants providing services to children and young persons.
- Participate in presenting and delivering teaching sessions for the clinical staff.
- Undertake mentoring of staff and assist with performance review appraisals where required.
- Ensure the unit meets CQC standards with reference to the care of children and young persons.
- Exhibit best practice standards at all times and be a role model for the team.
- Deliver a high level of post‑anaesthetic care for patients within the Theatre Recovery Room.
- Work with the Anaesthetic team to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe patient care.
- Promote the safety, wellbeing and interests of patients, visitors and staff to the clinical areas.
- Active member of the paediatric emergency response team.
- Participation in the on‑call rota and internal rotation of shift.
- Provide initial urgent or emergency care as required.
