We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and demonstrate exceptional knowledge of anatomy.     33-44 hours per week
  • Long shifts: 12-hour shift, 8pm-8am
  • Paid breaks
  • Dy/Night/Mixed shift
  • Pay rate: £20-£20.5 per hour

About the Role
  • Assess, plan and deliver nursing care with the patient and their carer/family, acting as the patient's named nurse.
  • Accurately observe and engage with patients to assess their needs and evaluate progress.
  • Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.
  • Evaluate and respond to changes in patient condition and needs.
  • Deal proactively and effectively with suggestions and complaints from patients and their families/carers.
  • Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary team.
  • Participate in regular clinical and non-clinical meetings and attend other meetings as requested.
  • Prioritise nursing duties and delegate appropriately and effectively within the shift coordination framework, working as nurse in charge as required, ensuring a safe environment.
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors, responding promptly and courteously to requests, enquiries and suggestions.
  • Help promote and maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the patient/relatives and carers.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice at least monthly.
  • Work in accordance with safeguarding adult and children policies and requirements.
  • Ensure the requirements of the Mental Health Act, the Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Standards are met.
  • Plan, implement and supervise the provision of quality care.
  • Maintain required medical documentation.
  • Uphold residents' rights to privacy, dignity and choice.
  • Report any ill health among residents and request professional visits when necessary.
  • Familiarise yourself with company policy and procedure and Care Inspectorate guidelines.
  • Abide by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct.
Requirements
  • Must be a registered nurse (current PIN number with NMC).
  • A genuine desire to work with the elderly.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, along with excellent listening skills.
  • The ability to supervise other staff members comfortably and competently.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Someone with a calm nature who can deal with and defuse challenging situations.
  • Knowledgeable about assessment, admission and discharge processes.
  • Knowledgeable of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and committed to working within its Codes of Practice.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
