Nurse Endoscopist performing both endoscopy and colonoscopy, and able to work in the scope of an advanced practitioner.
Main duties of the job- To work as a practitioner performing independent diagnostic upper and lower endoscopic procedures and some therapeutic interventions within the individual’s scope of practice
- Nurse endoscopist specialising in colon capsule endoscopy, responsible for interpreting captured images, identifying abnormalities, and collaborating with physicians to provide accurate diagnoses and patient care.
- As a nurse endoscopist, your role involves running transnasal gastroscopy procedures. You will be responsible for preparing patients, administering anaesthesia or sedation, performing the transnasal gastroscopy using specialised equipment, monitoring patient comfort and vital signs, documenting findings, and collaborating with physicians to provide accurate diagnoses and appropriate treatment recommendations.
- To provide high quality specialist nursing care and advice to all patients requiring or undergoing endoscopic investigation who are being treated by King’s College Hospital
- To provide support and advice to patients and their families/carers, attending the Endoscopy Department
- To influence patient care through clinical practice, management, leadership, education, research, audit and professional activities
- Contribute to the strategic development of endoscopy services
- To be an active member of the multidisciplinary team
- Provide strong leadership for staff to keep team motivation and encourage staff development
- Act as a role model and provide professional leadership to unit staff
