Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will assist the Physician and/or Physician Extender in providing technical nursing care to patients in all age groups. The LPN works under the supervision of the Director/Assistant Director, Physician, or Physician Extender.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and re-assessment of patients.
  • Provide direct care to patients of all ages.
  • Carry out tasks supportive to the patient care unit.
Technical Capabilities
  • Clinical Patient Documentation (Novice). Demonstrates patient documentation in moderate difficulty applications; works under direction while completing assignments; collects, reports, and records objective and subjective data accurately and timely.
  • LPN Patient Education (Novice). Demonstrates ability to provide patient education in moderate difficulty applications; works under direction.
  • LPN Care Planning (Novice). Participates in development of care plans with licensed healthcare team; anticipates resource needs; prioritizes tasks; follows up to resolve issues.
  • Clinical Competency (Novice). Demonstrates nursing interventions such as wound care, point‑of‑care testing, vital signs, etc., in moderate difficulty practical applications; works under direction.

Position Qualifications
  • Certification:
    Licensed Practical Nurse (LIC) – Tennessee.
  • Work Experience:

    Relevant work experience; less than 1 year (entry level).
  • Education:

    Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program.
