We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and inspiring senior nurse with experience in Paediatric Complex Epilepsy to join our team. This is a specialist role with a strong focus on the management of children and young people diagnosed with complex epilepsy, including those undergoing medication and ketogenic diet therapies, as well as supporting transition from Paediatric to adult epilepsy services.

You should have an in-depth understanding of the delivery of safe and high‑quality care, and be able to support and drive quality improvement across the neuroscience unit. You will be visible and accessible, act as a role model and hold responsibility for contributing to high‑quality epilepsy inpatient and outpatient care delivery. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver evidence‑based care to children with complex epilepsy, managing a defined caseload at GOSH within the Complex Epilepsy service, including ketogenic diet and transition care, in conjunction with the Epilepsy CNS team, neurologists, specialist dietitians and ACP for epilepsy surgery.

The role combines clinical expertise, education, service development and leadership to improve patient outcomes and experience.

• Take responsibility for a defined caseload of children and families, incorporating a care coordination remit as agreed
• Provide effective nursing leadership, expertise, advice and support to the team/department and ensure the provision of high‑quality care to children and families
• Act as a role model and highly competent practitioner
• Act as a designated resource to children and families, and other shared care professionals
• Provide nursing leadership to develop, deliver and evaluate services
• Support the effective management of patient activity throughout the care pathway with a focus on continuous quality improvement
• Complete workload activity recording in line with Trust Policy
• Ensure that all staff caring for children in the caseload have up‑to‑date clinical skills knowledge and competence
• Foster environments conducive to learning, inquiry and research and support the identification of training and development needs of nursing staff/learners in the department
