Metabolic Health is a specialist private clinic delivering personalised care across diabetes, endocrinology, obesity, and metabolic health. Our multidisciplinary team combines clinical expertise with digital health technology to help patients achieve better long‑term health outcomes through prevention, early intervention, and evidence‑based treatment.

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated, and patient‑focused Registered Nurse to join our growing clinical team. Working alongside Consultant Endocrinologists, Lead Nurses, Dietitians, Lifestyle Specialists, and Patient Care teams, you will provide high‑quality nursing care while supporting patients throughout their clinical journey.

Role Summary

As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver safe, evidence‑based nursing care to patients attending the clinic for assessments, treatment, monitoring, and follow‑up. You will perform comprehensive clinical assessments, support diagnostic investigations, educate patients, and contribute to delivering an exceptional patient experience.

This role requires excellent clinical judgement, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Core Responsibilities
1. Clinical Care
  • Conduct holistic nursing assessments for new and returning patients.
  • Perform clinical observations including blood pressure, pulse, weight, BMI, ECGs, venepuncture, and point‑of‑care testing where appropriate.
  • Support clinicians during patient consultations and diagnostic procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely within scope of practice and clinic protocols.
  • Monitor patient progress and escalate any clinical concerns appropriately.
  • Assist with the coordination of patient care across multiple clinical services.
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety and clinical care at all times.
2. Patient Education and Support
  • Deliver clear and compassionate patient education tailored to individual needs.
  • Support patients in understanding their diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle recommendations.
  • Encourage patients to actively participate in their own healthcare.
  • Provide reassurance and emotional support throughout the patient journey.
  • Produce accurate visit summaries and follow‑up communications where required.
3. Digital Health and Clinical Documentation
  • Accurately document patient assessments and interventions within the electronic patient record (EPR).
  • Collect and monitor clinical data to support ongoing patient care.
  • Use digital healthcare platforms and wearable technology where appropriate.
  • Support the implementation of new clinical systems and workflows.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and legally compliant clinical documentation.
4. Infection Prevention and Clinical Safety
  • Follow all infection prevention and control policies.
  • Ensure safe handling and disposal of clinical waste and sharps.
  • Report incidents, near misses and patient safety concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a safe clinical environment for patients, visitors and colleagues.
5. Quality Improvement and Clinical Governance
  • Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support CQC compliance and organisational clinical governance activities.
  • Assist with equipment checks, medication storage monitoring, and stock management.
  • Contribute to policy reviews and service improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and NMC requirements.
  • Work in accordance with the Duty of Candour and organisational governance procedures.
6. Multidisciplinary Working
  • Work collaboratively with Consultant Endocrinologists, General Practitioners, Dietitians, Lifestyle Specialists, Pharmacists, Laboratory staff and Patient Care teams.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case discussions.
