We’re looking for a Senior Scrub Theatre Practitioner specialising in Orthopaedics, Spinal or Neurosurgery to join our Theatre team at The Wellington Hospital. As a Senior Scrub Theatre Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in supporting a diverse caseload of complex procedures, with opportunities to work across major orthopaedic, spinal and neurological surgeries. Whether your background is in orthopaedics, neuro, spinal, or a combination of these specialties, you’ll be part of a highly skilled theatre team committed to delivering exceptional patient care and outstanding clinical outcomes.

What you’ll do:- Deliver high quality perioperative care for patients undergoing complex orthopaedic, spinal and neurological procedures.
- Safely prepare and manage theatre environments, ensuring equipment, instruments and sterile fields are maintained to the highest standards.
- Lead and coordinate theatre lists, supporting the smooth running of operating sessions.
- Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary colleagues to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
- Support a culture of safety, professionalism and shared learning across the theatre team.
- Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner qualification with a valid NMC or HCPC registration.
- Extensive scrub experience within Orthopaedic, Spinal and/or Neurosurgical theatres, ideally at Senior Practitioner level.
- Experience supporting complex procedures such as joint replacements, spinal fusion surgery, deformity correction, cranial surgery and other advanced specialist interventions.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to set up and manage complex theatre lists, prioritise effectively and work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams.
