We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Children’s Community Nurse to join an NHS Community Children’s Nursing Service in Canning Town, East London. This is a full-time locum opportunity with an initial 3-month contract, starting as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will manage a clinical caseload, taking responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care programmes for babies, children and young people with a range of acute, complex and long-term health needs.
You will work across the Community Children’s Nursing Service (CCNS) pathways, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, community services, acute hospitals, schools and other partner organisations to deliver high-quality, family-centred care.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate a clinical caseload within the Community Children’s Nursing Service.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing care.
- Deliver high-quality care to children and young people with complex, chronic and life-limiting conditions.
- Work collaboratively with acute and community healthcare professionals, education providers and voluntary services.
- Provide clinical supervision, support and line management to junior members of the team where appropriate.
- Act as a clinical resource, promoting best practice and supporting service development.
The Community Children’s Nursing Team supports babies, children and young people from pre-term through to 19 years of age across the London Borough of Newham. Care is delivered in a variety of community settings, including patients’ homes, schools and community clinics.
You’ll be joining a supportive multidisciplinary team working alongside play specialists, psychologists, dietitians and other healthcare professionals, with excellent opportunities for ongoing clinical skills development and professional growth.
Requirements- Registered Children’s Nurse (RNC) with valid NMC registration.
- Previous Community Children’s Nursing experience is desirable.
- Experience caring for children with complex healthcare needs.
- Excellent assessment, communication and clinical decision-making skills.
- Full right to work in the UK.
