Clinical Nurse Specialist – Gastrointestinal (GI)

The Wellington Hospital, Wellington Place, London, NW8 9LE
Hours:
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Competitive salary dependent on skills and experience.
- Act as a key worker throughout the patient pathway, providing expert support, care coordination and continuity of care.
- Manage a specialist GI caseload, undertaking holistic assessments and developing personalised plans of care.
- Provide clinical information, education and emotional support to patients, families and carers, enabling informed decision making throughout treatment.
- Collaborate with consultants and the multidisciplinary team through clinics, MDT meetings and ward rounds to deliver seamless patient care.
- Contribute to audit, research, service development and quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and experience.
- Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration, evidence of continued professional development and experience working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist within a relevant specialty.
- Significant post registration experience within a gastrointestinal, gastroenterology, colorectal, upper GI or HPB service, alongside completion of a relevant postgraduate qualification at Level 6 or Level 7.
- Experience managing complex patient pathways and providing specialist support throughout diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the confidence to work closely with consultants and multidisciplinary teams while advocating for patients and supporting them through challenging and emotionally complex situations.
- A strong understanding of clinical governance, audit, service improvement and evidence based practice, alongside the ability to lead and influence positive change within a specialist service.
