Job overview

The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of an interventional clinical trials covering the neurology research portfolio at St George’s.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the research teams and wider multidisciplinary team in the management of their own caseload of clinical trials patients and be accountable for the achievement of local and national targets in relation to the service.

This exciting opportunity will suit a nurse/ practitioner with experience in the disease areas with special interest in research.

Person specification Qualification and Training
  • Educated to diploma/degree level in Nursing
  • Good Clinical Practice Certificate
  • Relevant Post-Registration Training
  • RN with Current NMC Pin
Experience
  • Previous experience in audit and evaluation
  • Experience explaining complex concepts to patients in a clear simplified manner
  • Experience in Neurology disease
  • Previous experience in Clinical Trial Delivery
  • Experience working as a preceptor/facilitator
  • Experience of formal/informal teaching of patients and staff
Skills
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritise workload
  • Working well as part of the team from different areas
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competent use of relevant software
  • Experience in ECG’s, spirometry and phlebotomy
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
Knowledge
  • Experience in ECG’s, spirometry and phlebotomy
  • Awareness of clinical research methodology and treatment protocols
  • Participation in basic clinical or nursing research
Other
