We are seeking to recruit a CAMHS ADHD Nurse Prescriber with excellent clinical skills and a strong interest in working with neurodivergent children and their families.

This is a 24-month fixed term post, within the Lewisham CAMHS ADHD treatment team, to provide leadership and management support to the ADHD medication review team to ensure access and flow are prioritised while maintaining own caseload.

The post holder will support in leading a highly specialist service for children and young people with ADHD, with co-occurring neurodivergence and/or mental health difficulties. The post holder will be expected to contribute to specialist assessments and treatment plans. The role involves co‑ordinating medication clinics and includes undertaking non‑medical prescribing.

Alongside this, the post holder will be expected to use their expertise to offer advice and consultation to other members of the team as well as offering training in assessments and interventions to the wider Lewisham CAMHS service, and other professional networks.

To provide leadership and management support to the ADHD medication review team to ensure access and flow are prioritised while maintaining own caseload.

To manage a caseload, providing the analysis of complex information to determine the planning and management of assessment and treatment to C&YP with ADHD and co‑occurring neurodiverse/mental health difficulties.

To undertake assessments, including ADHD assessments.

To provide psychoeducation information sessions/groups.

To provide expertise in this highly specialist clinical area and to offer advice and consultation on clients care to other members of the service. To offer training in assessment and interventions for CYP with ADHD to CAMHS and other professional networks.

To liaise with medical colleagues, partner agencies and adult mental health professionals across a range of settings.

To work autonomously within professional practice guidelines and Trust guidelines.

To contribute to policy and service development, undertake research, service evaluation and audit for own team and to contribute to the training of the clinical team and others.

To work effectively as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team.

Lewisham Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) are across three main locations and provides multidisciplinary assessment, diagnostic, treatment, advisory and consultative service for children and adolescents with emotional and behavioural difficulties, in particular those with moderate to severe mental health presentations.

The ADHD Team is a small but efficient team based within Lewisham CAMHS providing ADHD medication reviews to children and young people up to the age of 18, and supporting other teams with ADHD medication titration and providing psychoeducation groups. The team works closely with other teams within Lewisham CAMHS.

This post is clinically based at Kaleidoscope Centre in Catford, a short walk from Catford train stations or Ladywell station.

Clinical

To lead the provision and delivery of the ADHD clinics provided by Lewisham CAMHS, and be a highly specialist practitioner within the assessment, treatment, and pharmacological management of CYP with ADHD and co‑morbid mental health and/or neurodiverse difficulties, assuming responsibility for own caseload.

To work as an independent and autonomous professional within professional guidelines and the policies and procedures of the service, taking full responsibility for own work.
