An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior band 6 staff nurse to join our team on Horder ward. Horder ward is a twelve bedded oncology ward providing care for patients undergoing surgery, systemic anti-cancer therapies, radiotherapy and complex symptom management needs.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated oncology nurse to join our team. The post requires a wiliness and enthusiasm to be able to able to support the development of a team of nurses and to be able to co-ordinate a small team of nurses to ensure the needs of our complex patient group are met.

Self-motivation to learn is also important if you are interested in this role. However, you will be supported to develop the competences required with the engagement of the Trusts learning and development team. There is also an opportunity to study at The Royal Marsden Hospital School of Cancer Nursing and Rehabilitation on site at Chelsea depending on individual requirements and availability.

The Senior Staff Nurse is responsible for assisting the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse in the management of the clinical environment and for the management of shifts. At Senior Staff Nurse level, the post holder is required to take responsibility for the management and development of a team of employees under the supervision of the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse.
