Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday only (no weekends, OOH, or on-call)

Are you an ambitious and forward-thinking Veterinary Surgeon ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a motivated and people-focused leader to head up a team of three vets at a well-established small animal practice in North London.

This is a rare opportunity to combine true work-life balance — with a Monday to Friday schedule — and the chance to shape and lead a dedicated clinical team within a supportive, progressive environment.

The Practice

The clinic is a modern, well-equipped first-opinion practice with a loyal client base and a strong reputation for quality care. You’ll join a close-knit team of vets, RVNs, and support staff who take pride in working collaboratively and maintaining excellent clinical standards.

Facilities include full diagnostic and surgical capabilities, allowing you to manage cases to a high level with the backing of experienced colleagues and access to leadership support.

The Role

As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll play a key role in:

  • Providing high-quality clinical care to patients and clients.
  • Leading and developing a team of three vets, fostering a positive, high-performing culture.
  • Supporting and mentoring colleagues to achieve their professional goals.
  • Driving clinical excellence and contributing to practice development.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be:

  • An experienced small animal GP vet with a confident, proactive approach.
  • Passionate about leadership, mentoring, and team development.
  • A strong communicator who values collaboration and continuity of care.
  • Progressive in outlook, with an interest in continuous improvement and clinical advancement.
Package & Benefits
  • Monday–Friday only – no weekends or OOH
  • 5 weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Generous CPD allowance, with support for certificates and leadership training
  • Pension scheme, staff discounts, and additional benefits
  • Visa sponsorship available if required
Location

Whetstone, North London – a leafy, well-connected suburb offering the perfect balance of city convenience and community feel. With excellent transport links (Northern Line), green spaces, great schools, and vibrant local amenities, it’s a fantastic place to live and work.

If you’re a compassionate and driven vet who’s ready to step into a leadership role and make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
